At the time it was written, Margaret Thatcher was trying to smash the Unions, the working classes and "prove" her "strength" by flexing the might at her disposal. Could it be that Morrissey is referencing a child-like interpretation of "some girls are bigger than others"...The reference to the pillows is like saying you dont live in my world....Send me the pillow the one that YOU dream on and I'll send you mine because we have totally different dreams of the future and what's important to society |

I think its obvious - I think its a reference to an ageing couple that have grown apart over time. She thinks that he takes her for granted "He never really looks at me, even though i give him every opportunity". He meanwhile thinks that she just wants to spend money. They both state they wont make that mistake again which is a reference to getting married.....just my take on it. |
