I weep when I hear this song, and I weep that nobody else seems to love it as much as it deserves. I mean, seriously? Nobody wants to talk about how beautiful and melancholy this song is? I get goosebumps when I hear the amazingly vivid yet relatable lyrics and how emotionally charged Scott's voice is; it's like he's about to break into tears over this ruined, one sided relationship. I mean, during the bridge the lyrics break down into desperate wails and the nonsensical phrase "She screams Christmas." Did he mean that she screamed the word "Christmas", or that she just seems to leak Christmas out her angry words, or is it one of those times where the artist leaves out most of the words and "she screams Christmas" are just a select few of words from a much bigger monologue? I just can't get over it. This song is and will always be one of my favorite songs. |
