| Kelly Clarkson – Never Again Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| The song is about a guy who deceived Kelly with romantic promises and perhaps promises of marriage (could you tell, by the flames that burned your words) he obviously went back on his word/promises. Kelly is raging mad because he used her with the intention to return to his ex when he was done sowing his oats with Kelly.."you knew exactly what you would do and don't say you simply lost your way" He writes a letter to Kelly apologizing for hurting her, but that's not enough for Kelly, she feels cheated and lied to "I never read your letter, cuz i knew what you'd say, give me that sunday school answer, repent yourself away" As if an apology is gonna make it ok for Kelly, pfft. He then goes back to the ex girlfriend and marries her instead. Kelly is angry at the other woman too perhaps for her part in the underhandedness and deceitful cheating "if she knows the truth, she deserves you" and curses the other woman "but when your day comes and he's through with you...AND he'll be through with you!!!" This man is a deceiver from the day he was born and has to deceive everyone in order to get away with what he does..."and don't say, you simply lost your way" which is what he's telling the world and the woman he returned to and married. In conclusion, what Kelly holds against this guy is his underhandedness and deception "It was you who chose to end it like you did, I was the last to know" And she vows to never love him or believe him ever again "They may believe you, but I never will...NEVER AGAIN" | |

Revengeful??? She doesn't make any mention of plans for revenge (at least not like Carrie Underwood, lol). I think what you meant was 'Angry'. And it's not so much that he moved on with someone new (or else she would have to sing this angry song to all her exes). That's too shallow of an interpretation. If she's angry, It's about his deception. "They may believe you, but I never will....NEVER AGAIN' |
