| Daughtry – Crawling Back to You Lyrics | 12 years ago |

It's beautiful. The world is wide and one might find oneself successful and happy in his endeavours, ( ' I was doing all right, though I could make it ' ) but everything good is never as good as it would be when it's done for love. In fact, everything pales by comparison. That's what he's saying , I guess. |

It's only the question that's important here, I think. 'What if I were nothing without you?' I think he's talking about the feeling people can get sometimes when they feel like the whole purpose of their life is to be with their significant other. Everything they do, they do so that the other will appreciate or take comfort in. And that's Love, isn't that so? So there's no question of him leaving her, since he would have no purpose without her. He would be nothing without her. That's why his Love will keep him from ever leaving her. That's what I think he's saying anyway. :) |

I like your interpretation , but I'm pretty sure that's not what he's saying. I like my interpretation better. :) Also I think he can't be exemplifying the utter ultimate end of his involvement and investment in the relationship because he keeps talking about just working at the relationship. |

And? Did you get your fighting spirit back? Does life not seem so pointless? How did you do it? I'm kinda going through something like this. |

I think he's asking whether anything he does would make a difference for him and give him satisfaction, without that girl he loves. What if he wins the world? Would she remember him? What if he doesn't ? Would she keep from forgetting him? What if he can't go on without her? Nothing would matter then. Not any of his achievements. Not without her. Scary,man... So what would he live for? He'd keep waiting for something to change and for her to call ... He'd end up doing this and being pretty pathetic because the achievements only have meaning when he does them for her. Simple plan did another song with a similar message called loser of the year. That one was a lot more upbeat, though. Like they were happy to just keep trying to get that chick. I'm guessing this is somewhere after, when the attempts failed. I have a question, though. What if she died? Or got married to someone else or something? Then what would he live for? Wouldn't life become especially pointless, then? If anyone can answer, please do. I agree with shineyoudiamond, the interpretation offered is pretty but it hardly fits with the lyrics. I think it's pretty obvious that he's not talking about his wife, just listen,' I can't believe you're out there flying with somebody else'. Unless she's cheating or divorcing him, she could hardly be with somebody else, could she? I think your interpretation just wants a happy story and you try to make Brandon seem all saintly and perfect. It's sad because it feels like in your attempts to glorify him, you've ignored almost every word he's sung in this song . Its like people just hear what they wanna hear and nothing else. |
