A chamber of reflection is a secluded room in a masonic lodge where candidates who are interested in joining the masons go to reflect before they join. This song is clearly about someone going in the chamber and reflecting on himself. When he leaves the chamber he'll be among the better men, the masons. Weird for Mac to sing about the masonic rituals like this, very creepy stuff if you ask me. |

To me it seems like the song is about Scott trying to convince a girl not to commit suicide and wait her life out until it is really over. And that it will get better, just keep busy |

The song is about someone who has been faced with a great deal of depression recently. He states that "His heart isn't running right" and that he is burned out. He needs this love of his to "do the trick" for him to get him back on his feet. A great love song, one of Dr. Dog's best songs. |

This song starts off with two friends talking about death. The first friend is an atheist stating that there is no life after death. The singer then tells us that he has heard God and fully believes in an afterlife. The second half of the song sung by Scott is saying that you should live your life and not worry about death until it comes. And when it does comes you'll never really go away. It is a great song! Has a strong sense of hope for the afterlife. |
