I think it's about a guy who's trying to get over a certain person and "Paris" is their relationship. He's currently in a "state of disaster" due to the end of this relationship and because of this he's beginning to lose sight of what he's doing with his own life. He's ready to let go of this person and put everything in the past after trying to hold onto something that was no longer there. Maybe it was his fault the relationship ended because he "should have just told the truth" so he's trying to forget her by drinking. Now that he doesn't have her anymore the memories of them together are like a "fantasy" but it's torture to him because it isn't real anymore. He's letting go because he can't bear the thought of losing her again. Because the relationship is now over and in the past there won't be anything she has to question or wonder about. |
