When I first heard this song, I thought he was saying "the sun" and not "the son" which changes a lot, I think. I had a more clear idea of the song, until I read that it is "the son", than I do now. These interpretations are great, but what does the son represent if it's not literal; like the miscarriage idea? Is the son Jesus? |

| Sunny Day Real Estate – Song About An Angel Lyrics | 10 years ago |
|
[Man:] So I stay, still awake Sleep, close my eyes. An image of your face traced in white sand. Underneath, undefined, I lay down. Arms outstretched, I embrace the fall. And all the time I tried to let you know discomfort comes clearly. [Woah x5] Sometimes, you see right through me. [Angel:] Words. Words. You're married to that You're married to that You're married to your pain [Man:] Although you hit me hard, I come back. The earth cries when i call on the inside. Running behind, which one will i face? Run behind, which one will i..? [Angel:] Thin comfort in what i say, my back is turned. I halo myself for a while. And all the time i tried to let you know discomfort comes clearly when I’ll shout. [Woah x5] [Man:] Sometimes you see right through me. [Angel:] Words, words. You’re married to that, You’re married to that, you’re married to your pain. [Man:] Although you hit me hard, I come back. The earth cries when i fall on the inside. Running behind, which one will i face? Run behind, which one will i..? |

| Converge – The Saddest Day Lyrics | 10 years ago |

@[justanotherkydd:4109] You my friend are an ignoramus. What you are hearing with your closed-off ears is literally jazz with distortion. Converge experiments with unconventional, and sometimes awkward, time-signatures. Sometimes they aren't even using the same time signatures between instruments on a single song. Link me to your YouTube video showing us you doing that. As for the elitist music snobs knocking on Taking Back Sunday: Have you even LISTENED to an album by them? Even their earlier stuff when they were a modern emo/pop-emo/borderline emo band (whatever you want to call it), they were the ONLY band in which every song had catchy hooks. The only band that i can think of on the top of my head in which 3 vocalists sang different lyrics at the same time and, like converge and their time signatures, matched up perfectly. Their song structure may have not have been the most unique, but it is also far from ordinary. Their lyrics were deep and meaningful. I consider myself a very open-minded and eclectic musical fanatic and Tell All Your Friends, to this day, is my favorite album of all time. |

| @[billybag:3055] and i know this is Brand New and not TBS, but they are close. Jesse was even in TBS for a brief time. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume he does this as well. | |

| i'm not exactly disputing the misheard lyric conundrum that people have spoke about below. i will say that Taking Back Sunday has been known to add/remove lyrics when playing live and even change lines entirely. Perhaps that is the reason for the different lyrics? i haven't listened to the love version and i havent listened to the studio version for a little while. | |

| This song is about God. But i like to pretend it is about a girl. | |
