I know in this song Eminem says that he's not a poet, but really, that's what he is! His songs have so much meaning to it. Anyway, to tell it simply, this song is about how he came to be, starting off as just a distant dream, and becoming a reality. At the end he's coming back to where he came from and helping kids just like him that had a hard time as kids but are still looking up and becoming great. --Olivia D. :) |

I'll give it to you simply: This song is about a young individual who doesn't know what to do with his/her life. He (or she) wants a million little things, and it really counting on all of them to happen. People close to or related to this individual don't see that he/she is a person too, with feelings. They lower him down to he/she feels like nothing but dirt. Then that individual is saying, "You know what? If you think I'm not ready for this, than I give up." He'/ She's telling them to 'Wake Me Up' when it's all over, meaning when they think they are ready. He 'didn't know I was lost', meaning that he/she didn't know that he/she wasn't ready at all, though he/she felt it. This song is basically the story of my life, now that I think of it. I know I want some things, but people keep putting me down. Anyway, I bet we all feel that way one day or another. I love how upbeat this song still is though. Aloe Blacc has a great voice, and Avicii had expertise on the track. That's all I have to say! xD --Olivia D. ;) |
