I get the feeling he was inspired to write this after he found out one of his childhood friends passed away; mostly because of this line: "You were something That would always be around". And the death made him remember being young and how different the world is from a child's perspective. I love the melancholy sound, it's so nostalgic and bitter sweet. Like he is not only mourning the loss of his friend but also the simplistic innocence of being a kid. |
