| The Smashing Pumpkins – Ava Adore Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Like many songs, the lyrics are made powerful by the arrangement and production of the song. Looking at them alone, this isn't a masterwork of poetry. It is, however, romantic and funny. I can imagine sitting around with a guitar and starting a song "It is you that I adore/You will always be my whore" and laughing as I write. Humor, desire, desperation--I hear all of that when I listen to this song. The guitar solo makes my heart and insides want to life into the air. Yelling out "We must never be apart" is a really dramatic thing to say. I hate that there is so much focus on lyrics. I think it's the fullness of the guitar tones when they kick in just before the chorus and the imperfections in Billy Corgan's voice that make this song special. |
