This song is achingly beautiful. It's about death to me- or possibly losing a relationship to someone you love because you can't help them. He clearly wants to help the person but he can't and must let it go, 'I cannot lay here on this line'. Heartbreaking........but beautiful. |

I love Neil Halstead- he's one of my favorite songwriters. This song is about a friend of his that has a drinking problem or is an alcoholic and the consequences are catching up to him. The sore eyes, his car is gone, he's been through troubled times, drink some beers and go down in style, you lose it all and bring it back again(sober to drunk, over and over). That's what I get from this song. I frickin' LOVE Mojave 3. |
