One Interpretation: Having a major secret that you have kept to yourself, and thinking "if only" the other person could know the dark secret that has tormented your spirit. Every time your tongue tries to pull the trigger on your secret, your hurt goes "numb" and you end up alone with nothing left but the silence. You don't allow the secret to escape, the secret is as solid and hidden as the bones beneath your flesh and will not break easy. A secret you are willing to take to the grave if you have to; and even after all the flesh has departed from your bones the silence that is your secret can never be broken. A silent oath that must be kept. Even if it's eating you up inside, you must keep these emotions to the side. You keep your silence despite the dishonesty after all this time, and now that the pressure has built up, your best move is to not lose your mind or yourself over this.
