well after reading it a couple of times, I dont know u guys but I interpretate it as if it was a simple guy singing up a song, a guy so inlove that e would compare his love story with romeo and juliet. and then suddenly amazingly a girl comes up to the "window", balcny... seriously who cares. and the point is that is not a imaginary timeline in wich the singers goes future and jumps to past and the to present again, he is not a time traveler, HE IS JUST A GUY INLOVE, a lonely guy who Felt left by his one love. So imagine for a second a story of a guy so sad that goes by the streets singing to a window hoping for a girl to come out, *im sorry, the girl* and then he is just remembering her how good it was and what it ment for both, and so, waiting for some kind of explanation or hoping to get her back. Remember that in romeo and juliet, their love was imposible, and by her side they cant be together because of her family. So just imagine she is getting married to this man she doesnt love and rome just found out, imagine that and picture how romeo´s perspective would be by the time he finds out that, and picture how he felt. This is what the song is about it, that is it... just a guy full of pain(lonelyness), shame(of being left out), and a endless hope to get her one love back. its a amazing song... and at the end they just repeat the first verse, maybe leaviing it for a open ending or just dramatazing the emotions. I sometimes interpretate this ending with the verse thing like a hit back to reality like if she never got out to the window and he is just singing to a lonely window. BUT sometimes i interpretate this ending with the verse aas a intensifying the emotions of the guy or the "lovestruck romeo". Maybe he felt in love with the girl but she is gone and now the doll is all he has left to hold and he feels so alone :) and well the doll reminds her a lot of her and he wishes she´d come back so he sees te doll as if it was real and it was her... but he feels alone because its a lifeless doll and he is so allone, really alone. he feels so so alone that he has to repeat it 3 times at the end of the song... Nate and the others are so amazing writters just wish i would know them some day.. |

Have u being dumped from your girlfriend or lost someone really important to you and there are some things they remind you of this person? well i think he is singing that he fell in love with her and now she is gone and have no one by his side just that insignificant lifeless doll and throught the song he talks about how things would be if she was here again like going out to the park and she´d tell her that he is all she wants but then he says like "if she could even talk" and thats like falling from te clouds and hitting so hard in the concrete because she is no longer so he feels so alone.. :) |
