I think it´s clearly talking about becoming this "star" in a way. The first part his picturing you what the before, and now that his "someone" he feels that everything was worth it. He has to leave, so he feels bad about leaving his life behind him but he knows that something better comes along with that loss. Its not about drugs or anything like that. The bittersweet taste its leaving his friends family but knowing that his dreams are coming true. The second part just gives you another look of what happend after he left his comfort zone. (How hard its to keep you relashions long distance...) "Journeys going fast I hope its gonna last 'cause I've never felt more alive Oh" He finally admits that its all going to fast and he can´t believe it but he hopes it last because it makes him feel great. |
