I don’t really know what this song is about, but my two cents interpretation is that it’s a pessimist’s view on his current and past experiences in relationships- weather they be romantic, or his view on his own artistic capabilities if you look at it in an abstract way. The first and second verse suggests trying and failing more than once. “My sun” and the verses there after, to me, suggest he’s referring to someone in particular, possibly a current significant other. He wants to try to keep this person/ thing/ success he’s gained, and make things continue to work, but he has failed other times and can’t escape the feeling buried down that he will only fail again. It’s a terrible reserve of insecurities he continues to go back to. He knows if he can’t overcome his own self deprecation than the thing he fears most (failing again) will only come to fruition and wreck the good thing he has now. I think “Sah fasa gan” is made up and who knows what that really means…2-7 could possibly be a score of his successes to failings? It’s all guessing, only the writer knows the meaning behind this song. It’s absolutely beautiful though. |

| I'm not religious myself, but this song might be about losing the moral scale and faith he was tought to follow. "Sword in mouth" is a Christian term for knowing the gospel well and spreading the word. He could be "helpless" in the bond between him and God, because the bible says regardless if you believe in God, he still loves you. Towards the middle-end of the song, he feels guilt (he's turned into a "wolf") and wishes to turn to walk in God's direction. Maybe the perspective is coming from a dying atheist? Lines such as " take our hand and walk us through" or "help us to lay down" suggest that he is seeking forgiveness from his "hell below." Who know's though, I could be off on this one | |
