My first impression was that the guy actually cares for this girl, but that it's just too early to say or that he fears it might sound stupid. Especially if you hear/read the line "sometimes I say stupid things that I think", so this might mean that he actually thinks that he loves her, but that it's stupid to say it out loud so soon. And that's why he sings "yes I love.. I mean I love to get to know you". He corrects himself. But the rest of the lyrics contradict this obviously. Still it kind of feels more correct to me to interpret it like this, mainly because of the "sometimes I say stupid things that I think". What do you guys think? |

This is an amazing song. I always understood he sang "Hope, well I just don't know.." and I kind of interpreted the song according to that. To me it was about the feeling of hope that has left him and about a relationship that has ended. His love has left him and has taken his hope with him. |
