As you slam the car door shut, you reflect on the events that transpired previously. Just days ago, you'd been All Alone, never to see the White Light. But you'd escaped your fate and turned your life around, escaped from your Demon Days and destroyed the Feel Good Incorporation. Alas, you sigh, there is more to be done. Matters to settle, loose ends to finish. As the key turns in the ignition, you smile. IT'S TIME FOR A ROAD TRIP, THROUGH THE D-SIDES. |

| Gorillaz – Bobby in Phoenix Lyrics | 11 years ago |

I love how that the same person who sings this song also sings in "Stylo" and "Cloud of Unknowing". Combining these three songs together makes one continuous story. "Stylo" has him praising the Stylo, a machine that symbolizes the technological revolution and turned the Plastic Beach into what it is today . He starts out as a man obsessed with artificial things and fake love. "Cloud of Unknowing" has him questioning his beliefs about the Stylo and technology. He is uncertain whether the Stylo is indeed a good thing or not. "Bobby in Phoenix" wraps up the trilogy of songs. This song is in another album entirely (another "story", as each Gorillaz album is essentially one long story), showing the passage of time between the last two songs and this one. In this song, Bobby has realized the beauty of nature, due to Phoenix (Let's talk about Phoenix, it's got a way of helping you breathe a little better) (In my heart and my mind I have no doubt). He is a happy man, one with nature. Either that, or it's just Bobby Womack singing about his time in Phoenix during the Plastic Beach World Tour. Iunno. |

| Gorillaz – Sweepstakes Lyrics | 12 years ago |

This song is actually very complex, full of layers and intricacies. So the song starts out with an irregular time signature, with Mos Def sort of rushing to spit out the first verse and chorus. It sounds uncomfortable and strange. Then in the second verse you hear a drum beat that changes the song to a more normal time signature, making the song feel more natural and comfortable. Mos Def sings the same words as before, but they're easier to understand and less rushed, making you feel more relaxed with the song. Then the song goes crazy, with trumpets and techno and someone singing the chorus while Mos is already rapping, stuff like that. Throughout all the pandemonium, you can clearly hear the drum beat keeping everything steady. Then Mos shouts, "HA! OW!" The song goes back to the way it started, with the strange time signature and rushed rap. It's almost identical to the beginning, except you can hear a weird whirring noise. Mos Def's voice fades, and the whirring sounds take over. Mos Def is the Boogeyman in this song, the antagonist Plastic Beach. He is introducing you to a carnival of sorts, and it starts out weirdly because that's your reaction to new things at first. They seem irregular and strange. Then the song starts getting normal, showing that everyone is getting used to this carnival. Then the confusion hits, showing everyone getting wrapped up in the carnival, but the drum line is still luring people into staying, giving a false sense of safety and peace, when in reality, the people are losing themselves. The song goes back to how it started, showing that Boogeyman is slowly leaving to corrupt some other people. The whirring could be the sounds of the carnival's machines, taking over. It's a very brainwashing type of song. |

| Gorillaz – O Green World Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| If you thought the army of kids with guns was bad, you are terrified of where you are now. A completely ravaged landscape, devoid of any life. Everything is made of metal, without a grain of grass or a single leaf. The only movements come from strange, robotic creatures that seem to have taken over. Not wanting to be hurt by these abominations, you run away, finding yourself lost in a desert. | |

| What lay behind the door that brought you out of the deserted plain shakes you to the core. An army of little children, armed to the teeth, firing at targets. You hear a man lamenting the fact that such an army exists. Wary of this strange environment, you quickly flee out of the building. | |
| Gorillaz – Last Living Souls Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
After stepping through the "harmonic door", as that mysterious voice coined it, you find yourself in a vast, white plain, with no one in sight for miles. You start to wonder if you are the last living soul, desperately seeking for companionship in this foreign, strange place. Searching yields no results. This place is devoid of life. You accept the fact that you are, indeed, the last living soul. Suddenly, another door, similar to the one that brought you here, materializes in front of you. Hearing the sounds of gunshots, you cautiously open the door and proceed. |

| Gorillaz – Intro Lyrics | 12 years ago |

It's the dead of night, you awake, feeling strange. You put on your hat and coat and decide to take a walk in order to shake off the strange feeling you have. There are police sirens in the distance. Suddenly, your vision blurs, and you hear a voice. When your vision clears, you see a door in front of you. Curious, you open it, and a deep booming voice announces your arrival. Inside, you find the horrors of your own Demon Days. |
