| Piano Magic – You Never Loved This City Lyrics | 12 years ago |

The closest interpretation of this song to me is,of a girl being raped. The composer has created the whole scene of how two lovers are being followed by people of the city, because they want to rape the girl. The lyrics portray their escape from them. "Make haste, the light is fading The traders turn the sign The clouds are lost to darkness The bars they spring to life " -its getting dark. The two lovers are fleeing away from the people following them. "You never loved this city But angel, it loves you Your smile, a roman candle Your eyes are Prussian blue -The lover tells how beautiful she is "Beware, the crack of lightning Three miles but drawing near The first rain blacks the pavement The birds, they disappear" -end.The people have caught them. Everything around is dark, there's no-one to help them and they'r all alone.. "Below, the rush of gutter Above, a silhouette" -pretty much explains everything I just love the play of music in the song. It creates a whole melancholic environment,so naturally. |

| The Flaming Lips – Butterfly, How Long It Takes to Die Lyrics | 12 years ago |

lyrics,so unconventional. This song to me by the way is all about the new rise after the end. A sunrise is followed by a sunset(transition is from positive to negative) The butterfly, born out of a caterpillar weeps on this upcoming catastrophe. But,there is another transition which follows ..from positive to negative. "You can see the universe beginning Making a new sun in a new sky You can see the universe is ending Making a new dark in a new night" That is,this whole cycle of a play between positives and negatives in our life goes on and on. |

| The Flaming Lips – Look...The Sun Is Rising Lyrics | 12 years ago |

What I think is that this song is about someone who knows he's being pulled towards something bad,but hes unable to stop himself from that..."that" which is incorrect ethically and morally .."mk utra",as the above two say maybe: "You can hear the voice Telling you to love It’s the voice of in came ultra And you’re doing what it wants" But somwhere deep inside he's guilty about it,he's fearing that his lover..who is no more is watching him doing these things.. "from behind the clouds" : "There is a little spaceship Hiding in the clouds You want it to love you Let’s keep the voices down" Also, "Love is always something Something you should fear When you really miss her Fear is all you hear" I like how the composer has referred to "love" here as something to be feared of. |
