I believe this song is about depression and how her new boyfriend has shown her how to be happy again. "We came a long long way, through the wind and rain." Here Charli is setting the scene that it took a while and it was difficult for her and her boyfriends relationship to begin, due to her depression. "When I fall apart, I'll swim with the sharks," there is no return for her if she were to become depressed again. "You changed my vision when, you said to me... you are my shining star, don't fade away into the darkness." Here Charli is telling us what her boyfriend said to her and that he doesn't want her to become depressed again. "You're across the sea, but you're near to me." Even when they're apart she loves him just as much as when they're together. "You know you gave me hope, now I stay afloat." How her boyfriend has changed her for the better. "I used to sleep to scream, and now I sleep to dream of you." Depression meant she would go to sleep feeling awful but now she has a boyfriend she looks forward to going to sleep. Charli is an amazing song writer. I love this song it has a real eerie feel, perhaps to reflect the eeriness of the song's meaning. |

People often slate The Pigeon Detectives for having bad lyrics, but personally I think this is very clever. The song is more than just, "he wants to sleep with her." I think he actually does love her and is trying to reassure her, "it's alright." It's kind of sad that she doesn't like him as much as he likes her. |

The song lyrics don't really state what she had done to make her, "fuck up" the relationship. All we know is that she's done something bad to draw their relationship to an end, presumably adultery? "Can't blame this one on bad luck." Anyway it's pretty clear the song is about her singing how she's done something to cause their relationship to end.. and she's asking, "How can I fix, what I fucked up?" |

I think this song is about a very close to break-up relationship. The first verse describes the relationship when it's still together, "When you go please don’t leave your love in the sun." She then goes onto say that she is trying to fix their relationship without help from her boyfriend, "Now I'm facing this on my own." "I can feel the fear," they are both worried about the future of their relationship. The final verse sees her repeating, "we survived nuclear seasons," suggesting that they were able to mend their relationship in the end. "Nuclear seasons," refers to the period in their relationship which is very unstable. |

Ke$ha has recently filed a lawsuit against Dr Luke for causing her psychological and physical harm whilst under his record label, as Luke would provide her with drugs and alcohol to sexually assault her whilst under the influence. "I don't know what's wrong, I'm just not tired. And boy I need a tranquilizer, I want you to come over." Although this song is fast-paced, analysing the lyrics does show Ke$ha's vulnerable state at the time. She claims that she's not tired so that is not the reason for her drowsiness, rather the fact that she is in need of a drug that Dr Luke has got her addicted to, "and boy I need a tranquilizer." |

The lyrics are very confusing and misleading. But I think the "Word" she doesn't want him to say is about breaking up. "Just don't say a word" meaning she does not want the relationship to end. "I've chosen you, but don't say a word" pretty much explains that. I'm not certain if that's accurate it's just my interpretation. |
