I may be wrong about this, but I'm pretty sure his mother wasn't in a coma for 27 years. She was crippled and hospitalized a lot, but I don't think she was comatose. Maybe towards the end she was, I'm not completely clear on that part. |

Love this song. I dunno what the style parody is exactly, but it definitely sounds like White Stripes to me. Hopefully someone can correct me though |

I realize this is 7 years late, but I wholeheartedly disagree. I feel this is still to date his best album, and I personally love this song. White & Nerdy is my theme song. |

It's about how a rapist views the crime they commit. They don't see it as a crime or wrong. |

Seems to me to be about the personification of the seven deadly sins. Other possibilities are the false promises of Lucifer (which, interestingly, is not a name he is ever called by in the Holy Bible), or as a stretch the embodiment of War the Horseman. |

No, you stupid twat. Even musicians have to read the music they perform. Besides, all accounts of that night have shown Kurt as really fucked up. During rehearsal, he could barely function due to the drugs and alcohol. He even read lyric and tab sheets for his own music, that's how far gone he was.
Next timr, watch the performance and fucking educate yourself on the subject matter before speaking. |

I like Kurt's version more. Always have. Much like his his Meat Puppets covers. There's just something about the way he sings them. Kind if like Marilyn Manson's cover of Sweet Dreams. There's just something to them I like more. |

Gay meaning homosexual is a modern meaning. I highly doubt that's what he meant. Gay initially meant to be happy and carefree. This makes far more sense in relation to the rest of the song. The entire song is one final tongue-in-cheek apology to the world for Kurt being himself and not being able to force himself to change. He knew at this point how things would end. |

Why are so many looking for deeper meaning in the song? Kurt explained this song was about a brief period when he was homeless. It's not some deep self - reevaluation or religious salvation. This is exactly what he hated about his music: people making more out if it than there was. |

I always just assumed it went with the whole the rest of the album's "fuck you" attitude towards the music industry, media, and record label at the time. Considering how much Kurt despised Nevermind and the commercialization it promoted, this just seemed like the obvious message of the song. |
