I think this song is about falling out of love after being hurt by the other person. "I'm caught in a symmetry of your mind" could be about the early stages of a relationship, the happiest, most "lovey-dovey" phase. "but I'm not happier than you" is the curtain falling down to see the more genuine side of a person. The whole chorus: "Thinking you were right Only to find that you're unkind But ironically you will always be Belle of the ball at least to me I'm caught in a symmetry of your mind" The other person hurt her a lot, treated her badly but still she holds him dearly, close to her heart for some reason. |

Whoa, this song speaks to my soul! I think it's about a relationship that isn't healthy. It's about when you find yourself caught in a situation that you know, you shouldn't be a part of. You know you ought to walk away because you deserve better, you're fully aware of it - yet you stay. Almost like a battle between your rational side and your heart. "You were the worst idea I ever had" This line speaks for itself.Literally "what was I thinking when I decided I'd welcome you into my life?" "Sometimes I wonder how I landed in a mess like this..." because you find yourself so into the situation, that it seems impossible to get out. Trying to look at it from the outside, you sure as hell don't know how you ended up in such a horrible, f*cked up place, it's even scary to take a look from other perspective. "And then you're walking through the door and not a thing goes wrong " oh man, this is such a powerful line! Because as f*cked up and bad as the situation may be, when you see this person, you forget about it all, even if it's just for a couple minutes. deceiving if you will. "And bells, they ring, there's a day when they will ring for us..." - I think this line is about hoping for a better future, hoping this storm, will pass. LOVE this song! <3 |

I think this song is about an on and off relationship (as it becomes a habit, in some way). The person is stuck between knowing that they're no good for the other, but still somehow "chase" the person, a part of them knows "what's at stake" and is now facing their mistakes and by "'cause I'm a bad loser" maybe he means that he can't stand it when the other person decides to walk away and so, there they go again but at some point, he feels like "something's changed and feels quite okay" so maybe is some sort of redemption to find peace within and or being finally at ease with the other one. Nice tune <3 |

This is such a beautiful song, you can really get the feeling of nostalgia through Lauri's voice, in the form of a musical sort of apology. I think this song is about someone who has been really hurt in the past and has not had the greatest of luck as far as love and relationships go. And then, one day, this person meets someone who's finally genuinely good and has the best of intentions to stick their broken pieces together and pour love into the cracks left by those bitter experiences. However, due to that horrible past, the person is selfish and does awful things that hurt the "good" one, as he is just "protecting" himself because apparently it's easier to have fun with as many people as he possibly can, but never comitting to anybody, so, one day, the good person finally reaches rock bottom and cannot take it anymore, and so, with a very heavy heart, decides to walk away. This song, as I see it, is basically an apology to this good-hearted person because now the greedy one can see what they lost. He now realizes all the good things that the other did and how stupid he was for making all those bad choices and choosing risk & inestability over unconditional true love. He is thanking the now-gone one for all the patience and time that gifted to him, because he's fully aware of how tough it was to deal with all that, as well as for providing them with a little bit of light during the past darkest days, even though he wasn't worthy of such thoughtful action. He is now accepting his mistakes and is now whole-heartedly asking the good person to stay, and to say that it isn't over, maybe hoping for a second chance ("would you save me once again?") Whoa it's 2014 and here I am posting my thoughts on this song because it really never gets old. Such a powerful and beautiful tune. First part: There's someone who's been around for some time and may be screwing with her head. You either want to be with someone or not. His past may be a bit messed up (when your will is so broken etc) and she's afraid that she may be just wasting her time. The chorus: She's trying really hard no to care about him and tries to convince herself that he doesn't mean anything at all...but if he really cared enough, he could be a big part of her life. The next part is about how she's aware it's a bit of her fault that she's into this person but is willing to take it seriously if he gives it a go. The last part sounds like she's willing to give it all BUT ONLY if he's worthy of everything she has to offer. "Do you really want to go...?", according to my own opinion, goes beyond the sexual part (which she's obviously referring to in "that place is holy"), it's more about "taking the whole package", truly committing to one another. Long live Nelly :) |

From my point of view, this is about how we've all been hurt in the past (yesterday's nothing but a heartbreaking lie) and how we tend to cling to bad experiences which leads to don't open up when new people that seem to care enough to want to get to know us. "It's time to get rid of it eternally" "it can only get better" "and it's gone any minute so why don't you admit it?" These phrases sound like maybe you've reached bottom completely and from now on it can only get better, just like the roller coaster that life itself is. Maybe there's someone that you'd like to get close to but insecurities and demotional scars won't let you open up completely. "Go and live your life Just don't turn the knife Fade into the light It's your night" Just let go of the past and bad experiences, let your life lighten up again, it's your night. |
