| Lou Reed – Perfect Day Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| My interpretation of this song is not that he's happy. I think that he is saying that he isn't satisfied with the person he is with. He's saying "It's such a Perfect Day" "You just keep me hanging on" saying that yeah, anyone else would believe that this would be a perfect day, drinking sangria in the park, going to the movies, etc... But the thing is, he is never satisfied with what he's currently doing, and he's searching for more and more and can't seem to find the happiness he's looking for. And I think that by saying "You just keep me hanging on" is basically saying that he's basically being dragged down by her (or whoever) and its making himself feel less than he is. But yet, he loves her. So she's dragging him down, but holding on just the perfect amount just so that he is not able to leave.. He feels trapped, in a sense. I think that the reason I interpret it this way is because that is percisely the way I feel and have felt for a long while. Music is extraordinary because everyone is entitled to their own interpretations and opinions about certain songs, lyrics, etc.. and we can all learn and grow from it because the way we want to view the music, and want to learn from it. It's self-learning that cannot be achieved, in this way, in any other form. Music has saved my life (literally) so many times and I'm so grateful for the musicians and poets that have created this extraordinary beauty that you can't find anywhere else. Please feel free to share your thoughts about this post and thumbs up if you agree or like this post (you don't have to completely agree, just to a certain extent because I realize not everyone is going through this and cannot understand it fully, but know that I envy you). Thanks.. I would love any feedback. | |

| I love the guitar in this song. Such a beatiful rift. As soon as I get my acoustic guitar, this is the first song I am going to learn. Thank you Mark Kozelek. This song has helped me in life more than any single person will ever realize. | |
