It's sad that Randy is truly more of a libertarian than anything else, but everyone somehow labels him as a liberal. I think he is even confused. I think the song is about the United States and how it has crumbled. Our founding principles (fathers) are what made us a great nation. Now the government is so big that our founding principles have vanished. He defies the government to continue on its journey of destruction and confiscation of citizens rights. Under Obama this has been heavily accelerated and is killing our nation from within. For the sake of the slain soldiers dying for "freedom" it is absolutely disgusting to see how the US government is stripping us from our freedoms at home. It makes the soldiers deaths be in vein, and for a lost cause. Pawns in a game, this is inherently why Randy is so mad and is also the main theme of Ashes of The Wake. |

| Lamb of God – Ruin Lyrics | 11 years ago |

I think this song is about multiculturalism and the death of the White race here in the United States. "The knowledge that seeking the favor of another Means the murder of self." These lines point to the PC and democratic crowd that push "diversity as strength", when actually diversity just means anti-white. "The end of all progress The death of evolution It bleeds all life away." Evolution dies when a particular being loses the will to live. Which is what many white people have been tricked into thinking. They think Mexicans and other immigrants should just come to the United States and displace Whites because of "White guilt". "Silence speeds the path to the streams of solace that run so few and narrow. Brooks that babble the sounds of torture. Sounds of torture You will one day rise To flood the banks of the chosen. This is the art of ruin." These lines state that if Whites continue to be pacified and silent about this issue, they WILL be displaced by most likely Latinos...The Latinos will become a majority in the United States by flooding the Whites and the US will turn to crap a.k.a. "ruin". "I will show you all that I have mastered Fear. Pain. Hatred. Power. This is the art of ruin" I think these lines refer to the White man standing up for himself and taking the United States back, because let's face it, we can kick millions of Latinos out of the country tomorrow if our government wasn't such a joke. This is what the song means to Me. |

Life is tough, get the hell over it and do something. Make something out of your life because you're going to die in the end and you don't want to die with regrets. Be passionate about what you do, and do it well without succumbing to people who are trying to stop you. |

| The Flatliners – New Years Resolutions Lyrics | 11 years ago |
|
Obviously about how hard the past year or so has been. Funeral after funeral. Death seems to be a reoccurring theme. "If this year continues how its been, you're likely to never see my face again" I believe is referring to his own death. Then towards the end i think it can be interpreted in a mainly 2 ways: 1: He is afraid to sleep because he thinks his own death is near and might not wake up. 2. He doesn't want to go through the horror of waking up in the middle of the night to a phone call to news of a death of a friend. He is pleading to find a way to sleep sound. Great song which I believe to be directly connected to "Resuscitation of the Year" |

I believe "you're likely to never see my face again" from New Year's Resolutions is a direct connection between these lines. "Oh, you will never see me again. No, you will never see the me that you knew again." New Years Resolutions was partly about how many of his friends died in the past years and how hard it was without them. Resuscitation of The Year is the story and aftermath of what happened in "New Years Resolutions". He got through a really hard time in his life, and he couldn't have done it without his (still living) friends. The title "Resuscitation of The Year" implies he is a new man, leaving the old behind. |

| Blind Melon – Deserted Lyrics | 11 years ago |

Going through a hard point in your drug addiction, and just being tired of it, but yet you can't get over it because you have not seen "the light" yet. And the sands blew in my eyes I stood on the edge and looked down to see The light of a new life, shinning up on me With a wish that I had The sand blew in my eyes At the end he only kind of sees the light because there is sand in his eyes (things are unclear, his mind isn't right). So he ends up not having this great see "the light" revelation, and feels kinda screwed about it because he's been longing for it. |

| The Flatliners – Hal Johnson Smokes Cigarettes Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| I think this song is about false heros. Whether it was propaganda driven, or just by ignorance. It then moves into not following heros, but writing your own story ans doing your own thing. Don't live somebody else's life, live your own, do something new, ect. | |
| The Flatliners – You Guys Want One Of These? Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| This song seems like i direct reference to the previous song on the album "mastering the worlds smallest violin". Concerning their hometown. | |
| The Flatliners – ...And The World Files For Chapter 11 Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| green=money. The song is saying politicians are taking your money and wasting it. "We only take what we need" being sarcastic. Chapter 11 just means bankruptcy. Politicians take your money, waste is, take more, then overspend it, then everyone is poor. How wonderful. | |
| The Flatliners – Spill Your Guts Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| Looks to me that this song is about hating greedy, dirty, propaganda pushing politicians. Probably the best Flatliners song. | |

| you meant "can't" dumbass. | |
| The Flatliners – Count Your Bruises Lyrics | 11 years ago |
| "There's unity in detachment" was always my favorite line in this song. I think it speaks not knowing what you have til it is gone. Once something leaves you or visa versa it gives you time to reflect on it, and the things you really enjoyed in life will leave you longing for them. | |

| Chicago is just another city they went to and enjoyed. This song on the surface is about San Fran, but Chris also said it's just a tribute to the other great cities they have traveled to. | |
| Cage the Elephant – Cigarette Daydreams Lyrics | 12 years ago |
| It seems to be referring to a relationship that at some point down the line started to fade away, or the couple started to drift apart. Some things can be held onto for a long time, and in some cases it is better to just let things go instead of searching your whole life and probably coming up with no solid answer. Finding "the reason" will satisfy his soul, but letting go all together will satisfy it just as much. Cigarette Daydream is most likely referring to have a smoke and thinking about all of this. | |
