Dustin Kensrue – It's Not Enough Lyrics 12 years ago
I agree with emokid about how it is about him never being able to complete himself. And I agree the song is inspired by Dustin's perception of god. But I don't think it's in anyway asking god for help or implying that he can't be complete without god. I think the song is more about a confession to oneself, an admittance that sometimes we can't be accepting of the way things turn out or the way things are. Or be happy with the amazement of the infinite we have around us. And in turn with the outlet and creation of this song is a sort of acceptance of the unacceptable. One could also infer that he is even implying that if we were actually god it would still not be enough; due to the lines: "though I could live for all to take them higher. Or spend the centuries looking for light within." Well that's my long two cents. I'm reminded of a line from mika's lollipop that fits well here, it goes... "Jesus loves her, she wants more."
