I feel like he is talking to a friend and kind of warning him about this girl who cheated on him. the "how long you got?" "I can go on for hours" part to me is the friend not believing him but then the guy jumps straight to the story. |

in some parts of this song I feel as if they are talking about homosexuality. "mama we all go to hell." some people believe that gay people go to hell. "stop asking me questions I hate to see you cry" questioning his sexuality. usually when a child comes out of the closet the parent cries because of mixed feelings even though you kinda already know they aren't strait. also "You should have raised a baby girl
I should have been a better son" I think is saying that if he was a girl it would be oaky/normal to be attracted to males. I should have been a better son is saying he should've been strait bc again some people think being gay is a sin. I know this song is about being in the army those lyrics just stuck out to me |

this song is probably one of the most creative pieces out there by panic along with girls/girls/boys. anyways this song is based on a couple where the mans band performs at a strip club. In the music video at the beginning the girl is paranoid thinking that the boy is going to there for pleasure. when in reality he works there so he can pay off the apartment. I saw a live performance of this song on youtube and in an instrumental break there is a stripper who gives brendon a lap dance. he looks very uncomfortable through the whole thing hence the term "but its better if YOU do." that's just my perspective =-) |
