| The Rasmus – No Fear Lyrics | 12 years ago |

Do you not see that this song is the ANSWER to IN THE SHADOWS? In The Shadows speaks of waiting and preparing for life (I've been watching, I've been waiting / In the shadows for my time), on the premise that you have to somehow be complete and ready before you can start living ("They say that I must learn to kill before I can feel safe"). However, no one can be "ready for life". And this song is about that. You are never "ready". You can never "learn enough to feel safe". Instead you just have to plunge right in having safeness as a starting point ("no fear") even if you do not feel clear about what you are doing and where you are going ("destination darkness). Some people have interpreted this song to be about death. And although I think it is mostly about life, it is also about death, because its meaning is to "live dangerously or die trying". This song has few words because it is the "last verse" of IN THE SHADOWS. If it was a heap of words it would appear as a story of its own and not work so well. IMO, this is one of the best songs from The Rasmus. |
