yes posing is the done thing these days. this post has to be quick because i need to stop by hot topic before picking up my avril lavigne cd and my new cute chunky glass frames. I keep getting drawn back to this forum like a moth to a flame because of all the bullshit spewed on here. That potatoes girl is out of control.. 14 years old and she's been listening to indie since she was 7? wooo. she really is a truely cool chick..quote "i'm also pissed that liking old stuff is a trend, cuz i was liking it first" yeah man you were the first to listen to old school music, you started that trend, let me be the first to thank you for opening me up to such a fabulous genre. where oh where would i be without you? Its lucky your only 14, there is still a chance you'll wake up to realise how little sense your making. |

really? *sigh* thats sad. haha makes me look stupid, but it was more in relation to the comment made that this song is like The Cure's "Lovecats". couldn't find two songs at more parallel opposites. I guess the point in the end is that no matter what they do, Blink will continue to sell trillions of albums to pre-teen pre-punk kids around the world. It can be viewed as a good thing, I guess, because when it comes to listening to a new genre of music, we all have to start somewhere and its rarely at the top. I like to think of Blink 182 as one of those introductory bands, never anyone you stay hooked on, because basically, at some point we all have to grow up. Or, in the case of some people who have posted here, not grow up. Are blink's musical styles maturing? I don't think so. Are they conforming to the market and stratigically playing a very smart game to ensure they stay at the top of whatever current trend is in? for sure. |

anyone who has seen nightmare before christmas, directed by tim burton will understand the jack and sally reference. anyone who has any music taste will understand how much it sucks said reference was used. translation: nightmare before christmas rocked, this song sucks. its time to end your career if your reduced to stealing movie lines and characters to pump up boring songs. suttle? subtle even? oh please let this song represent MY relationship. and please, please never ever compare the cure to blink 182. if robert smith was dead, he'd be turning in his grave. |

i love the sex pistol, the majority of great punk would be dead in the gutter or the next backstreet boys without their influence and these lyrics are absolutly classic, same goes for their song EMI which was (and still is) the best fuck you to the record industry. But it can't be forgotton that they started the band as a joke, to see if a band without any talent could make any money-and that is the greatest triumph of the pistols. They lost you in their message so as to distract from the fact that sid couldn't play bass and johnny couldn't sing. I mean really has anyone heard johnny rotten's public image years? This is not a love song for example? the vocals are just wrong. But thats not what they were about. and thats what makes them one of the most influencial groups of music history-thank you, good night |

I fully agree with dispatch4all yet i like some dashboard songs. True the idea of a grown man crying over his own song lyrics is enough to turn you into an emokid yet he sometimes has strokes of brilliance and writes some killer songs. I like From Autumn to Ashes and Most precious blood and Phantom planet and get-up kids. The point i'm trying to make is can't we all get along? why does it have to be such a battle? accept other peoples taste in music and even occasionally give it a shot. Don't exclude music and artist simply because of what YOU think they stand for (except if your britney spears-there is no excuse for that) Who knows you just might find a new fave band! |

well this song is really special to me because my parents named me after the gerl that wrote the original version coz they liked it so much in their day and the goldfinger version is pretty damn good in its own right! I thought it was more to do with the fall of the Berlin wall "Here I am sitting pretty in the dust that was a city" after the fall of the wall the pre-exsisting cities on both sides were destroyed. this is only wat i've heard though! |

This song reminds me heaps of Grinspoon and since I heard that they helped write some of the songs on ELVA i guess that's were its from. Scott sings it perfectly but you can still imagine what it'd be like with the guys from grinspoon singing it-similar sorta styles i guess |
