This 'unrest' is the demon within yourself that wants to escape this mortal 'captive frame'. Call it a suicidal tendency to escape the pain of life, 'the consummation devoutly to be wished' that Hamlet speaks of in the most famous of all soliloquies. cf 'just to sleep without these thoughts' and 'to die, to sleep, to sleep, perchance to dream'. This 'unrest' plans to drive its body's car into a lamp-post or something, when 'metal and flesh will fuse today'. That sort of irresistible vision 'jumps out' and blasts the body's days (read: human life) clean away. |
