Could it be that the last verse "it was a good lay" was the diary entry the lover had read and got hurt? And could it be that the note actually did not convey the protagonist's real feelings but was just a silly comment not meant to be read and he was the one in love indeed? and then when she read it she broke it off but wants to still be friends so she comes around and he feels awkward. |
