These lyrics hit me right in the gut and make me want to cry: "I used to believe in a love watching over. I want to believe in that love yet again." Holy $%!+ does that describe me exactly. I love the way Jon Davison sings it. It's so so sad, at least to me. I don't like the album Heaven & Earth. It's not really Yes to me. But I've listened to this song 1000 times. |

I just heard this song for the first time ever today while watching the Deep Purple Blu-ray disc Live in Verona (which is amazing, by the way). It's been a long time since I've heard a song for the first time that just blew me away. The emotional power of the words and music in this song is overwhelming. The words, singing, and playing touch a sadness so deep the tears will swell. And yet it's a sublimely beautiful sadness. This shows that the power of great music is eternal. Great song! |

I love this song. What an enigmatic story. To me it's a dialogue between God and the Devil. God banishes his brother so he can follow his dreams of heaven. Later the Devil takes over the world, and God can't stop him. God's abandonment of his brother led to this evil. |
