This song also shows Old Testament influences in the Rasta faith as well as Bob's Catholic upbringing with verses like "The stone that builder refuse shall become the head cornerstone" which is basically Psalm 118:22. Even the word JAH for God is seen in Pslams 68:4 in the King James Version. This song also references the destruction on Babylon. |

Regardless of the history in this song, anyone from the South knows what this song means. Some city boy comes to a party, probably a field party or in the woods, and he thinks he is the man because he is around all these 'uneducated hicks' and thinks he can get the girls because he is from the big bad city with his knife and his posse. However, the Southern boys have guns and know how to scrap without weapons and no cops are going to be able to find you in the middle of the sticks. It's called Yankee arrogance. |
