| Oasis – D'You Know What I Mean? Lyrics

Great song, but those lyrically and sonically this is practically a cover of the lead track of the Stone Roses Second Coming - Breaking Into Heaven. Both songs are about the author trying to retain their soul in chaotic situations.
Breaking Into Heaven: "Heavens gates can't hold me, I'll sell those suckers down."
D'ya Know What I Mean: "I met my maker and I made him cry, and on my shoulder he asked me why his people won't fly through the storm." |

Reni played the xylophone, at Rockfield studios, actually just a few months after that infamous paint chucking exercise against Paul Birch! This song, like I am without shoes, is about Moses, in this instance the Moses and the burning bush - hence the name of the song "Somethings Burning" |

I am without shoes is about Moses - "For I am without shoes" I think is mentioned in Exodus somewhere, might have been the flight from egypt. Something's Burning also has connections on Moses. |

Bang on This is obviously about the Garden of Eden and the downfall of mankind, with God ejecting Adam and Eve from paradise - "I don't want you now, the seeds are sown" - referring to the seeds of mankind's downfall after consuming the apple from the tree of knowledge. Well spotted! |

Breaking Into Heaven by the Roses carries on where their first album left off - so after I Am the Resurrection and the resurrection of Jesus on Easter Sunday comes Breaking Into Heaven which is Christ's ascent into heaven - "heaven's gate's can't hold me" and also "the kingdom here is all inside". |

| The Stone Roses – I Wanna Be Adored Lyrics

I wanna be adored is about the adoration of the Magi - aka the Three Wise Men of Balthazar, Caspar and Melchoir. The Roses debut album is the life and story of Jesus - starting with this song, the adoration of the Magi, and finishing with I am the ressurection - Easter Sunday, the ressurection of Christ - "I am the ressurection and I am the light". The Roses second album "Second Coming" begins with "Breaking Into Heaven" - so after the ressurection of Christ, comes the ascent of Jesus into heaven. |
