| This is about the feeling that some teenagers go through where they want to like everybody else and the only thing that matters in the world is being excepted and popular and having friends. | |

Listen to the first verse. This song is about, "dark" teenagers and people. "Bat your eyes girl. Be otherworldly. Seduce a stranger." He's describing how she choosing to appear creepy and dark, as a defense mechanism. An lot of teeangers who appear dark are faking it. "What's so wrong with being happy? Kudos to those who see through sickness yeah" Brandon talking now, about the same issue. We choose to create problems for ourselves. Just my opinion. |

He is making fun of the fact that teenagers look for an identity and like to hate on other identities. The stereotype is that the popular kids will hate the outsiders, but it's the other way around too. The outsiders are just as fake, trying to be scary and morbid. And sometimes for good reason. But as the ultimate "outsider" leader he probably looks at al his fans who all are trying so hard to be different and thinks, "wow you guys are all the same." |

I think it's more than unrequited love. I think this song is about a desperate, unhealthy love. Someone he loves more than he loves himself. Someone he would do anything for, even change himself. He will be anything she wants him to be. The vibe of the song is haunting and erie. That is what his love for her feels like. Maybe I'm wrong. But it is a fantastic song that describes this situation perfectly. |
