Here is what I hear from this song. He ended up outside for whatever reason and saw the eyes of a predator (or hunter) and that predator can be whatever. Then it goes on to describe the fear. People say don't run, but that usually gets thrown out the window when you are actually in danger. You feel like bait because its just watching you, and you need to keep focused on the situation (careful where the mind goes). I'm not super sure on the final line of the chorus. Maybe its about ending up dying alone? Trying to hold your breath to be quiet or still, is harder than it seems. Don't try it. Then it describes the fear intensifying and then it appears the "Hunter" makes its move toward the guy (just grabbed my arm). Then, it sounds like to me, the guy realizes he's going to have to fight his way out of this. (I'll beat this jackal down) Send it back beyond meaning obviously to kill it. Then the showdown begins... "Hunter Meets Hunter" "Hunter Eats Hunter" That's how I think of it. This song is really great and intense. |

One thing I really like about this song is actually not even IN the song. In the little booklet that comes with the album if you go to the lyrics of this song, there is one line that isn't in the song, but it is at the end. "You should be happy no matter what" It could be a mistake, but I think it was intentionally put there to make the person reading it THINK it themselves, which makes it even more personal. Just a little side note that I really liked. |

I've sat at the back of the line for years, Wishing the world wouldn't spin, I give in, alone again it appears. There were pieces of me that lived in corners on a hard wood floor. I feel like this song is about someone who is trying to help a friend from doing something bad again. A relapse in behavior, whether minor or major: You fought me once, but not again Let me feel your heavy hand I will clean your fucking mess And leave no trace of evidence Talking about past experiences, the person doesn't seem to want the help. But the person trying to help is going to clean up after them to try and help. I am losing you again Let me out, and let me in Cause you're not alone here, not at all Let me belong here, break my fall... The Person trying to help realizes he's is losing the person again. Asking him to either let me in or out, because you AREN'T ALONE. Let me help you. Break my fall i think is significant of a trust fall. Asking him to trust him. Shelter me from this again Dedicated to the end Help me break my conscience in to free us from our innocence I think this is the person who needs help starting to realize what the other person is doing and how they are trying to help. I am losing you again Let me out, or let me in Cause you're not alone here, not at all Let me belong here, break my fall... Mayday, mayday Requesting permission to land I cannot control the plane We are in danger of crashing This I think is just significant of them both being in danger of "crashing" because they are both wrapped up in this. The person trying to help cleaned up their mess, which got him involved. I am losing you again...
