I have read a few comments regarding this song, and for once I have to admit I am pleasantly surprised to read some people actually believe in many respects that this song is primarily about God and the proof of his existence. I believe the reference to being sober refers to those who are not drunk on believing and or following God. This like MANY tool songs is about God...period!!! Maynard isn't "so deep", "so mysterious" he's a puppet, a pawn for the devil!!! The only reason this band is where they are is because they sold out to the devil for talent and fame!!! This band will burn in hell unless they repent of their sin and turn to Christ!!! It always astounds me how 90% of the time people read these lyrics and interpret them, that people almost always turn to God or Christ in the reference and justify it as though "well its not really about God" but Maynard is just using it as a metaphor or drug addiction or insert your favorite load of garbage. The bottom line is God or Christ is blasphemed in dozens of Maynard written songs, and it's no coincidence, or happenstance but rather deliberate! Wake up! You people who channel these songs into metaphors and other arbitrary concepts are choosing to change the meaning of the songs to justify the fact that you as well as I know these songs are in fact evil wicked and wrong and you just want to justify your lifestyle because your conscience bears the true witness of the Godhead and you are simply refusing to change your life to live for God!! Quit justifying your wickedness stop serving the devil and see that these men in this band are evil and this song is no exception!!! They are puppets given fame and glory and riches by the devil for a purpose to lead fools astray! Satan is the God of this world, and whether you choose to serve God or Satan you are serving one or the other no matter what! Start paying attention to what these people are brainwashing your minds with people!!! All rockstars promote and encourage wicked behaviour and sin! Everyone in this band is FULLY aware that they are serving Satan and that they are on their way to Hell! Maynard promotes the devil and the occult and anyone who even scratches the surface of their image and music/lyrics knows this so stop ignoring it people! Be advised! Turn to Christ and repent! I once was fooled and beguiled by this band over 20 years ago, and now I know what they are and what they stand for! They are damning millions to hell!!! |

Why would God allow such a perfect example of faith suffer so long? Well, people suffer due to man and his sin. Mans sin causes harm to people all around us. Your sin, my sin, all sin effects everyone either directly or indirectly. God's word teaches that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God so she was hardly "perfect" |

Blah Blah blah! All people are religious! You too are not exempt! Your religion is the Devil! You either serve God or Satan it's not difficult! Satan rebelled and anyone who rebels God is "religiously" serving the Devil out of their own vanity! Thats exactly what Satan wanted 6000 years ago when he rebelled, you are no different, only lost! First of all I would like to begin my comment about this song by saying that Maynard and the rest of the band DOES believe in an all omnicient and all powerful all knowing God. The lyrics to this song are clearly indicative of his knowledge of God, he however, has chosen not to serve God, but rather he serves the devil. This band and every member in this band is knowingly willfully on their way to hell and they are fully aware of this fact. Anyone who reads into their lyrical content can clearly see this, and if you cannot see this you too are a new age fool! My issue with this band is their blatant blasphemy of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Maynard sings all about think for yourself, do what thou wilt etc etc... these are ideologies he never came up with. It's funny how he tells us to think for ourselves and praises Satan and totally blasphemes Christ in songs like Eulogy. Doesn't sound like he wants any listener to think for themself does it? Use your brain people!!! This band and all the rest has sold their souls to the devil. Isn't it funny how these people say there is no God but yet EVERY major band throughout history ALL sing about the devil! Is this by some random stochastic chance? Every man is born with a conscience, and God has given everyone that conscience, now it's what we do with it that matters. You either serve God or the Devil people its plain its simple! I think this songs expounds a plea he is making about his mothers faith he knows to be true even though he has chosen not to walk a similar path. He most likely is haunted tortured and tormented and will ultimatley face eternal torment unless he repents, but at this point God has probably turned him over to a reprobate mind! Further, I assert that there is no person alive who is atheist or agnostic. Every man or woman is born with a conscience from a child through their adult life. To say one does not believe in God or the existence thereof requires faith, and seeing as though no one can prove scientifically or otherwise that there is no God is no more or less faith that there is or isn't a God!!! Same with evolution! Unprovable! The devil wants you to be decieved and all of our consciences know right from wrong, and we know God exists, and if you say he doesn't well just wait til you are in a life and death situation the first thing most people say is oh God.....etc etc.... Think people! Use your brain! These men are losers and they work for the devil!!! |
