this is my friend's and my song. she was going through a rough time, and we just cranked this up whenever she was feeling bad, and it was our song. anyways. this song was about vic's ex-girlfriend who would climb up into the trees, away from her abusive parents, until they went looking for her, hence the lyric: "she sits up high, surrounded by the sun. one million branches and she loves everyone. mom and dad, did you search for me? i've been up here so long, i'm going crazy." i think that she was suicidal and, like vic did, struggled with self harm. but no matter what vic said, she wouldn't stop. the title is a reference to olivia penpraze, the girl who bulls in the bronx was written about. her suicide date was in may, but she didn't make it till then. |
