Seems like a lament to the cheapness of single life, drifting from one encounter to the next, but not making any kind of connection. the line about no memories to keep you warm at night seems fitting in that respect - no shared memories that encourage a loving relationship. just going clubbing, getting laid, waking up bored. sounds rubbish ;] |

the ending does not advocate free guns for everyone who believes in god.
the song criticises the murderous pantomime villains along with the hollywood veneer of the idols whose morals only run as deep as the surface.
it's about the different forms of societal control - drugs, war, politics, assasination, hollywood, fast food, guns, religion, prostitution, patriotism, racism. all of which are referenced at giddy pace and all of which point back to the assassination of JFK, one of the USA's defining moments, captured on home video. |

It's about looking forward to seeing Chi again and looking back on their time shared. Quite stark and direct for Chino, but again, open to your own layers.

For me , it makes me think of my daughter, and how I'm just a device to keep her safe - everything else is just shapes and colours. perhaps everything she could see as a newborn is just shapes and colours. the kind of slow, simple beat resembles a heartbeat, with the guitar a bit like hospital monitors. I'm obviously projecting a great deal, but i thought i should comment, since a lot of the other comments were quite negative and possessive sounding.
such a good album - deftones have such a catalogue of amazing songs, they sometimes just pass you by. |
