A very wistful, melancholy song. Great take on regret/guilt about coming and going in a hurry to visit his sick father. It's not only a reduced fare, but it feels like a "cheap day return." It's literally the least he could do. A subtle and evocative little song that conveys the emotion many feel in similar family situations. Also an interesting take his emerging celebrity - which he finds a bit strange and comical. A possible insight into Ian's attitude about "rock stardom." Musically exquisite and economical as expected from Tull. |
