I think its about a guy who is really in love with a woman and they are in a relationship. But he is more into her than she is into him. He thinks she's his soulmate but she wants him to slow down. And he is trying to convince her that he is the guy. While the song is hopeful, the true story is that Noel wrote the song about his ex girlfriend who dumped him and he never got over it. It's his way of coping by writing a song where she didn't and instead gave him more of a chance. |

This song should have opened Razorblade Suitcase. It would have been a perfect tone setter as opposed to Personal Holloway. It ended up a B-Side to Greedy Fly but it is Bush's catchiest song. The song makes no sense. There are no official lyrics to it. I don't think they intended it to mean anything or they half assed recorded it and it ended up being a really cool tune. In fact I would disagree with half the lyrics posted here. I thought it was "Doctor ain't it good to live?!" |

| Better Than Ezra – Desperately Wanting Lyrics

I think it is about a relationship of either 2 friends or 2 lovers. Both young. One better off than the other. As in one is sick with a mental illness maybe borderline or bipolar or possibly a drug addiction and the other one being "normal" but they are close. Either way that person is troubled and this friend or lover is writing him/her a letter after a long time of not seeing them. Is missing them and wants them back. But is also in a lot of denial. And so is the family or maybe they are not, I don't know. But it is about all that denial involved the pros and cons of being "ON" and "OFF" and one way or another desperately wanting for things to be fine. I don't know just a thought. |
