I've always thought that he's talking about his father who has schizophrenia or some other illness, like alzheimer's. The song's about the fathers hallucinations and how the singer can see him slowly disappearing. When he says "I just pray the wires aren't coming", he means he's seeing some symptoms in himself and hopes the illness doesn't get him as well. |
