| Cracker – Another Song About the Rain Lyrics | 12 years ago |
|
Generally, songs about rain refer to tears falling, or crying. I don't believe this one is outside of that. However, I have a bit of a "twist", and see a Biblical interpretation. The line "Got a line straight from my heart Another time it went to you Another place where we were smart Before the flood and time was through" could be interpreted as our connection with God, which was severed via the original sin, and leading up to the Great Flood of Noah. We go through life trying to reconnect, but are continuously reminded of why we were disconnected. "Will our child cry for me When he hears the dragon's flame" implicates the second coming of Christ, and the question of whether or not we are personally worthy of redemption. Basically @inteleckshual has it right, but perhaps this, like so many others, has a dual meaning. |
