I LOVE this song. I am a man with a weakness (and massive collection) for love songs. Love comes Quickly by the Pet shop Boys is probably my #1 favorite love song. The lyrics are all so true. "You can fly away to the end of the world... ...but where does that get you?" He is saying that wealth, money, the finer things in life... ...mean nothing. They are nothing. If you don't have a loving relationship you have nothing. Being loved, and having someone you can give your love to are the main thing in life. Love comes quickly was a part of my "makeout playlist" when I was single. It's an awesome song for snuggling and kissing and touching and getting in the mood. My wife and me still love the song and the memories that go with it. Giving my (then my girlfriend) wife flowers, with the lyrics taped into the card, etc. There is a great cover-version of this by a girl-group called West End Girls. It rocks, and the sweet female vocals add another dimension. God bless the Pet Shop Boys and their many timeless hits. |
