this song tells the story of a relationship. I believe the song progresses musically and lyrically from some observations he had made about the relationship to others. At the point "it's like learning a new language" the music and ambiance changes and he has made a decision that under the condition that she will not "bring up those lonely parts" he will be her Leif Erikson, her conqueror. From this point forward they can leave those sad times behind, if she so chooses. At the end of the song, however, he realizes she does not love him, as her love is shallow and easy to define, and his romance is subliminal, or she is loved by him yet does not see that. |

this song is about the condition night terrors. I had one last night... I relate to how he felt blinded or trapped in the terror, it is incredibly horrific. I felt like I was in hell, worse than any pain I have ever experienced. I also relate to this song because it seems like one of the causes of his night terrors could be some great stress he is trying to work through and overcome, much like myself. perfect style of music to sing about this condition.. the commanding of this "demon" to leave at the end and the sad realization that you just have to endure it.. "I curse you tonight"... |
