| Fall Out Boy – It's Hard to Say "I Do", When I Don't Lyrics | 12 years ago |

I think this song is about how all those kids who get bullied shoot up their schools. The line, "You're appealing to emotions I simply do not have," Kind of points towards this. Most kids who get bullied don't have feelings for the people who made fun of them, so they don't have any compassion towards them anymore. "Blackmailed myself cause I ain't got anyone else," could mean how these kids feel like they don't have anyone else, so they blame everything that's been wrong on themselves, instead of the actual causes. "I've got the red carpet blues baby." This could mean they're tired of being made fun of- put on the spot like a celebrity. The chorus means that there is not an amount of money or "I'm sorry"'s that could make them (the kids who were bullied) not shoot them. "When I said that I'd return to you I meant more like a relapse Now again I think "His and her's" "For better or worse" But the only ring I want buried with me are the ones around my eyes" These lines reference that like many people who have been bullied feel unable to function without being told they aren't good enough, so they go back. It also tells that he can't sleep, so he has dark rings around his eyes, making his judgments poor poor and his choices rash. All in all, this song is amazing, and possibly one of my favorites! |
