The Police – Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic Lyrics 11 years ago
It's shocking that you people honestly have no clue what this song means... So I'll tell you. I've been through this before, so I know first-hand.

"Though I've tried before to tell her
Of the feelings I have for her in my heart
Every time that I come near her I just lose my nerve
As I've done from the start"

- He has tried telling his girlfriend he loves her, but she doesn't want to hear it because she's NOT in love with him. When he gets near her, he gets nervous and it causes their relationship to be awkward and annoying - he's done this from the start because he was infatuated with her.

"Every little thing she does is magic
Everything she do just turns me on
Even though my life before was tragic
Now I know my love for her goes on"

- He loves this girl so much that literally every little thing she does makes him horny, and turns him on. His life before her was lonely, sad, and tragic. He knows he will continue to love her because of this fact - he's desperate and is compromising for a relationship that's toxic, and one-sided.

"Do I have to tell the story
Of a thousand rainy days since we first met
It's a big enough umbrella
But it's always me that ends up getting wet."

- Does he have to tell you about all the times the girl left him? Dumped him? Treated him like shit since they first met? Cheated on him with another guy? He doesn't want to tell friends and family about those "thousand rainy days" because it makes him sad, and he want to believe she loves him.

"It's a big enough umbrella" simply means there is enough room for the both of them in their relationship, and a huge chance for the feelings to be mutual... "But it's always me that ends up getting wet" implies he's always the one getting the short end of the stick, and who gets treated like shit by her.

"I resolved to call her up a thousand times a day.
And ask her if she'll marry me in some old fashioned way.
But my silent fears have gripped me long before I reach the phone
Long before my time has tripped me must I always be alone"

- He wants to call her up and express his true feelings for her once more, hoping she'll confess her love and come running back. However, he's fearful she'll reject him again, like so many times in the past, and so he asks himself "will I always be alone?"

Great song.. Sad, but so, so true are these words. I loved this girl will all my heart, and she treated me like a peasant.. Cheated on me, and never truly loved me at all. I can relate to what Sting's saying in this song.

Peace.

The Fray – Over My Head (Cable Car) Lyrics 11 years ago
This song may have been written based on Issac's own experience with his brother, but the line "with 8 seconds left in overtime she's on your mind" wouldn't have been put in there if it was entirely dedicated to their fight.

That's what is so great about music.. You can listen to a song and connect it with your own personal situation.

I, personally, was used, abused and treated like a peasant by my ex girlfriend and this song clearly helps me cope with the mistreatment I endured. When the pressure is on ME, I can think of only one.. my first love. Even though she broke my heart, I think about her all the time.

Rod Stewart – So Far Away Lyrics 12 years ago
This song reminds me of an old girlfriend who just wouldn't let me get close to her. Eventually, after $4,000 in expenses and months of crying, I decided to let her go.. This song brings back so many memories of when I would sit at home and cry over how much I wished she would be at my door. It doesn't help to know, she's so far away.. I love you K, and I will always be here if you decide to return - even if you never truly cared for me.
