| I think the tone of the song leans more towards death and mourning than betrayal and anger. Perhaps the song refers to a friend or relative of his dying and Jon looking over his friend's widow and orphans. Also the bridge refers to a "stupid car stuck in the snow" while the rest of the song refers to a spring rain. Maybe his friend died in a car crash in the snow, and the rain refers to how every time Jon comes over to his friend's family and tries to be friendly and help, instead he is hurting them by bringing back memories they'd rather do without. Just my interpretation though. | |

I think that this song is about how influential music is. "I'm useless, but not for long" is saying that he isn't very popular now, and therefor not influential, but he will be soon. "you didn't think so I command you to"; he is making you think things that you wouldn't without listening to him. "pick and choose"; you can decide who persuades you "who you really think is kicking tunes?" do you honestly believe that you have control? "priceless for you because I put you on the hype shit" the ideas in the music are so valuable to you because you enjoy the music itself. just my opinion. |
