@a_fan: A song can be divinely inspired without the songwriter even realizing where the inspiration came from. In other words, as someone else mentioned, God's (Jesus') hand can be in a song, even if the artist is not a Christian. According to songfacts.com: Simon said, "I have no idea where it came from. It came all of the sudden. It was one of the most shocking moments in my songwriting career. I remember thinking, 'This is considerably better than I usually write." |

I completely agree with you. I saw a performance of this song earlier tonight and I said, "This song is so anointed!" It is a beautiful and powerful song. And I understand what you were saying. I too marvel at those moments when I'm feeling down, and God reveals His presence in some way, which (as the song says) lifts me up and fills me with wonder! Those moments never cease to amaze me... So I know what you mean, and I get the song! :) |
