Looking at this from an overall sense and not a literal one, I think he's saying you don't know how good you have it until you don't have it. "Only know you've been high when you're feeling low" really explains that. He's probably specifically talking about love because of his main line "Only know you love her when you let her go." But, it's nice to imagine he means to appreciate all the meaningful things in your life and to not take anything for granted. Because later, you'll wish you hadn't |

When I first heard this song, I hated it. But then I heard it a few times and it got stuck in my mind. When I looked up the lyrics, it actually started to have meaning to me. I agree with a lot of these comments. Most of the pop songs today aren't relate-able at ALL because most people don't live a life of luxury and riches. She says that she's learned to accept that she'll never be "royal" and to just be content with it. If people really understood it, would it really be on the charts? Some of it's "Top Charter Buddies" are songs that she criticizes! But I am glad to see a song that practically anyone can relate with (except for the Hollywood starts themselves. :D ) |
