Neck Deep – A Part of Me Lyrics 12 years ago
I think that this song is the story of a boy who thought that he had a really strong emotional connection with a girl. She's super confident and knows exactly what she's doing, and puts him in his place and leaves a mark on him. He just wants to protect her but she's not like that so she ends up pushing him away. she's okay with hu once in a while but doesn't want anything more than that. He's super hurt by it and doesn't want to become deressed again from it. ye

La Dispute – Such Small Hands Lyrics 12 years ago
I think I saw you in my sleep, darling
I think I saw you in my dreams you were
Stitching up the seams on every broken promise
That your body couldn't keep
I think I saw you in my sleep
This part is about him having dreams about his ex. She broke a promise, which was most likely breaking up with him or cheating, and he's still messed up from it.

I thought I heard the door open, oh no,
I thought I heard the door open but
I only heard it close
The part about the door is a metaphor for their relationship. The door being possibilities, and being together forever. He misinterpreted the "door" opening when it really closed. They wanted two different things.

I thought I heard a plane crashing, but
Now I think it was your passion snapping
The next part, the one about the plain, is a metaphor for their relationship as well. Just as a plain crash is hopeless and doomed, so is her feelings for him.

I think you saw me confronting my fear, it
Went up with a bottle and went down with the beer and
I think you ought to stay away from here
There are ghosts in the walls and they
Crawl in your head through your ear
I think he's talking about letting her go. It takes courage to let someone you love leave like that, and he drinks the pain away. The last part "There are ghosts in the walls and they crawl in your head through your ear" I think is that people talk, and they will continue to remind them of what has happened. Nothing will be let go.
