I think when Dano says "you'll never hear my name without your chest in flames" he's referring to my ex using plenty of fish and zoosk while I watched from a distance. It was beautiful destruction. This song will leave you sitting with it on repeat. Just pondering who or what it's all about. That's the ultimate compliment we can pay Ben, his lyrics are personal to everyone that listens. I get a similar vibe when I hear the old but dark "Hold On" by Good Charlotte, I know night and day difference in the bands.
To me I get out of this, that there's a person all alone due to their own mistakes. "You're so cold, but you feel alive" You turned someone off and hurt them so bad you actually felt good about it, as the song goes on though you sense the feeling of remorse and atoning for your actions.
Again this is lyrical fortitude for each and every person. |

This song is the response/preamble to August Burns Reds' White Washed. There should be more animosity and distaste between bands it makes for more passionate songwriting. In a dying genre its what we need. Black Diamonds and Genesis were two of the best albums from 2012. Next up will be Attila vs Emmure. Fronz and Frankie. Exciting! |
